The World Equestrian Games will be held in Lexington next year from September 25 to October 10, 2010 and represents the largest equine sporting event ever held in the United States. This will be the first time that the event will be held outside of Europe. In the past, the event has drawn over 500,000 visitors.
Warren Rogers, President and CEO of W. Rogers Company has expressed an interest in discussing with fellow Roundtable Partners, how businesses can better prepare for the expected interruptions during the Games. In Warren’s words, “it will not be business as usual”.
This Partner Sharing Webinar will discuss the impact these Games will have on businesses, not only in Lexington, but perhaps the region. We have invited Amy Walker, Public Relations Manager for the Games to share her insights about the games and to let us know what to expect. She will also share information about how your organization and employees can become involved with the games.
Additional issues we would like to address will be how businesses may need to offer adjusted work schedules, time-off policies during the games (for volunteers and ticket holders), flexible hours to avoid traffic snarls, and telecommuting options.
